I posted about this forum on both al.com and the dot org site. Both threads were deleted and I have been un-registered from the dot org site.
Anyone concerned about wrestling in this state should be very concerned that one group is trying to silence all other voices.
Scott posted on his site that with the site now being owned by AWO, they had a "greater responsibility to protect our brand and provide a environment free of vulgarity, profanity, threats, and bullying". If that were the case, I thing they would welcome a place where those conversation could be had that would not be associated with their brand. The fact is they only want one opinion to be heard and no one else's.
Teams have been lied to and asked to exclusively support AWO. Any dissenting voice is simply eliminated. Well, they can't control this board.
The dishonest leadership at AWO has stolen data, scheduled conflicting tournaments, and coerced a high school coach to betray his youth club. These are the people you will be dealing with.
They are a cancer on the sport of wrestling.

Brian I totally agree it's pretty pathetic how this is all taking place due to one group not getting their way. I guess censorship on "their" site will mean they can all live in perfect harmony together while making their own set of rules and watering down the wrestling in the youth ranks.
Hopefully word of this forum will get out and quit being deleted on al.com simply because they want to "rule the world".

It really is pathetic, the lengths AWO is going to.

Brian sent me a private message on that forum, however before I could read it, my messaging privileges were removed. I guess they have stooped to reading users private messages, and removing their privileges when they don't like their private conversations.

Basically, there is a group of dads who want to run the sport in this state. Most profess the name of Jesus, and do very ungodly business practices. Free speech (whether you agree with it or not) should always take the forefront. Different opinions forced to compromise not split, is how things get better. We need one league, in the winter. Freestyle and Greco in the spring. Summer is for the high schools to have their kids. Also I've heard many of them complain about the AHSAA rules and how they will not follow them. Do I think they are stupid yes, but I will teach my son that you must obey the rules even when you don't agree (unless they are injurious, immoral, or illegal). Guess what the rules set by the AHSAA are not, nor was the vote at the meeting. I didn't vote for president Obama, but I didn't leave the country either. If I disagree with the leadership, I'll simply wait for another vote to come around and try and make this the best country (wrestling in Alabama) I can.

Yep, I posted some very legitimate questions last night to their site in regards to how this was actually helping wrestling in the state of AL, and is it really done to help our kids. The post was deleted and my username was deleted as well. By doing this they just validate that they do not have an answer and it's not for the kids. It's for them to be in control and have power. Cowardice in my opinion..

That is exactly why I copied your post from there to here. I figured it would not be there long. Team Al and USA wrestling is facing an uphill battle in this. AWO is led by the former leadership from USA. I believe that they had this planned well in advance of the member's vote. They are doing everything they can to convince the people that don't know any better that USA in Alabama is folding.

I agree with brianhoyt and wildcat85. I'm fine listening to others' opinions & views anytime.....no matter how ignorant or wrong they are. I do it at work every day, so why not in a wrestling forum?
